Remember who you are by zolani mahola

If the birds up in the trees
Know how beautiful they are
If the mountains and the sea
Know how magical they are
If the stars which made our skin
Show how radiant they are
Won’t they shine their light until
You remember who you are?

(C) Zolani Mahola

What have you forgotten about who you are? What do you need to remember? Journal your reflections.

Begin a poem with the words, “I remember…” Let the images flow onto the page.

When you think about the natural world, is there a particular landscape or being that you are drawn to? Write a character sketch of them. And then ask: In what ways am I like this being?
