The Speaking Trees: Poetic Dialogues with Nature

Drawn to trees, woods, and forests, we can feel the loss of a beloved tree as the loss of a family member. What is it that calls to us about these amazing beings? What do forests mean to us, not just ecologically but imaginatively and spiritually? How can we learn from trees? Speak to them? Explore our relationship with them, creatively and courageously?

In this 5-week online course, we’ll:

·      Read and write poetry rooted in the imagery of forests

·      Explore the concept of the forest as an aspect of the untamed self

·      Communicate with trees via meditation, musings, journal writing (and time in their presence if possible)

·      Learn the mystery of forest communities and what they teach us about our own lives

This program is for anyone who feels an affinity for poetry and nature, and especially the forest landscape. It’s also for those who are creatively curious and want to put down deeper roots into their writing.

No previous writing experience necessary. To find our more or to register, please click here.
