THIS IS WHAT I LONG FOR -- A GROUP POEM

This is what I long for ………. flowing stream beds

love and peacefulness

clean, clear water

humans coming home to the heart of the Earth.

This is what I long for ………. the colour of spring

the crash of the sea

warm sunshine

the harmony of all beings.

This is what I long for ………. global healing

swimming naked with the sun beating down

a healthy planet for my granddaughter

to take time to be free.

This is what I long for ………. a world in which every single being matters

being in the centre of a stone circle

bright sunshine on spring-green grass

the call of shearwaters in a wet midnight

humans to treat Mother Earth and all creatures, plants and beings

with respect, kindness and wisdom.

This is what I long for ………. a cool breeze on a hot day

sweet fragrance of spring flowers

the magical moments of Spring

driving Mum passed The Edge and hear her say one last time “God made this”

long hours surrendering to the gravity of the seaside sand…….to feel the

nourishment of the sun on my skin…….to sit and stare and do nothing.

This is what I long for ………. for people to unwrap their cling film and stop the killing

a simple, warm and gentle breeze across my face

the pace of life to continue as it is now

new connections after long isolation, burst of colour of spring flowers,

the loud chatter of singing birds

ever-changing solidly permanent connection to Earth and Humanity

to belong to the beauty

the first touch of the sea in summer

clean, fresh sea

peace

This is what I long for.
